The Atelier standard — what is non-negotiable
Berta Atelier is the same workshop that produced the property map you are browsing. The standards below apply to every tier — from a one-page Signal site to a full Sovereign platform.
Hand-written, not template-bloat
Every site ships as semantic HTML, hand-written CSS, and a small amount of vanilla JavaScript. Heavy front-end frameworks are introduced only when the brief warrants them. The result is a site that loads in milliseconds and reads cleanly to crawlers, screen readers, and engineers.
Typographic discipline
House pairing of Cormorant Garamond and Source Sans 3, 60-character measure, considered hierarchy. Custom type direction available on request — we treat typography as the work, not a finishing touch.
Performance and accessibility
Lighthouse ≥ 95 across the four axes is a delivery target, not a stretch goal. WCAG AA, keyboard-first, skip-links, prefers-reduced-motion, and cookieless analytics where the brief allows.
Structured metadata
JSON-LD Organization, Article, Course, Podcast, or Product as appropriate; canonical URLs; Open Graph and Twitter Cards; sitemap and robots.txt — every site is built to be cited.
Operational handover
Every site ships with a deployable repository (your GitHub or ours), DNS notes, an editor's manual for non-technical updates, and a 30-day post-launch defect window. Optional care plans extend that surface.

Are you a freelancer or an agency?
Neither. Berta Atelier is the bespoke-build arm of Rondanini Publishing Ltd's technology operation. Engagements are senior-led; we do not subcontract delivery.
Do you do redesigns?
Yes — migration from Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, or WordPress is a common engagement. We treat it as a re-typesetting exercise, not a copy-paste.
Will you use my branding, or design the brand too?
Both are options. If you arrive without a brand, we recommend a one-day brand sprint as part of the Atlas or Doctrine tier; the result is a typographic system, palette, mark direction, and a small number of in-house illustrations.
Who owns the code?
You do, in full, on delivery. The Atelier retains a non-exclusive right to feature the work as a case study unless you ask otherwise.
Do you host?
Hosting is your choice — Netlify, Vercel, Cloudflare Pages, or your existing infrastructure. Care plans cover updates, monitoring, and DNS hygiene; they do not lock hosting to us.
What is not in scope?
We do not do paid advertising operations, social-media management, or general "marketing retainers". We build and maintain the website itself, with structured handover to the partner who owns those functions.
